Job Title: School Support Worker - Specialist SEMH Provisions

Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £106 - £115 per day (dependent on hours worked)
Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only

We are recruiting School Support Workers to join specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) provisions in and around the Birkenhead area. These provisions support both primary and secondary-aged students with additional needs, including SEN, who may display challenging behaviours.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals with experience in care, support work, youth work, or similar backgrounds, who want to make a difference in the lives of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide behaviour and learning support to pupils with SEMH and SEN needs.

• Support students 1:1 and in small groups to encourage engagement and progress.

• Assist with behaviour management, remaining calm and consistent in challenging situations.

• Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to deliver tailored support.

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.

Essential Requirements:

• Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply and pay for one).

• A minimum of 24 month's professional employment references with no major gaps in the last 5 years.

• Must provide a valid Right to Work document, an in-date photo ID, and two proofs of address.

• Must be able to drive or be happy to travel via public transport to schools across the Preston area.
