Hours: 3:00pm - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join our team in Preston. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to high standards of hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard.

• Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, and dust/wipe down furniture and surfaces.

• Empty bins and dispose of rubbish in accordance with school waste procedures.

• Refill soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers as required.

• Clean and disinfect toilet and washroom areas.

• Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored securely.

• Report any maintenance or health and safety issues to the Site Manager.

• Follow school safeguarding, health & safety, and COSHH regulations.

• Support deep cleaning tasks during school holidays when required.

Requirements

• Previous cleaning experience in schools or similar environments is desirable but not essential.

• Good knowledge of cleaning practices, health & safety, and hygiene standards.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe environment.

• Enhanced DBS check required (can be arranged if not already held).
