School Catering Manager - Ellesmere Port
Location: Ellesmere Port
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:00pm
Start Date: 12th August
Contract: 12-month maternity cover
Pay: £18.00-£19.00 per hour
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic School Catering Manager to join a welcoming school in Ellesmere Port on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong catering management experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality, nutritious meals in a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the school kitchen.
- Lead, motivate, and support the catering team.
- Plan and prepare nutritious, high-quality meals in line with school standards.
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and budget requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations.
- Maintain excellent food quality, presentation, and customer service.
- Complete all required kitchen documentation and records.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience managing a catering operation, ideally within a school, education, or contract catering environment.
- A Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- A good understanding of food safety legislation and allergen management.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
