Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 2:00pm (20 hours per week)

Rate of Pay: £16.25 per hour

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and reliable School Catering Assistant to support the daily operation of a school kitchen in the Liverpool area. The role involves food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with school and food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of school meals

• Supporting the smooth running of the kitchen during service times

• Washing up, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean working environment

• Following food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH regulations

• Supporting the catering team as required to meet service demands

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen setting is essential
  (School, education, or similar high-volume catering environments strongly preferred)

• Willingness to undergo reference checks

• Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (cost paid by the candidate)

• Ability to provide proof of Right to Work in the UK

• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
