School Catering Assistant

Catering Assistant - Liverpool
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 2:00pm (20 hours per week)
Pay: £16.25 per hour

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join a busy school kitchen team in Liverpool. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals to pupils and staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals

• Set up the dining area and ensure smooth meal service

• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and dining spaces

• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment

• Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures

• Help with stock rotation and storage of food deliveries

• Work as part of a supportive kitchen team

Requirements:

• Experience working in a school kitchen or similar catering environment is essential

• Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling practices

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure

• Friendly, positive attitude and good communication skills

• Willing to complete reference and enhanced DBS checks
