School Caretaker

School Caretaker - Huyton

Hours: 7:30am-10:30am & 2:30pm-5:30pm (split shift)
Pay: £17 per hour
Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Open and secure the school buildings at the start and end of the day

• Carry out routine site checks to ensure health & safety compliance

• Complete minor repairs, maintenance, and basic DIY tasks

• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the school site and grounds

• Set up and clear down rooms for lessons, meetings, and events

• Monitor site security, respond to alarms, and report any issues

• Manage waste disposal and deliveries

• Liaise with contractors and ensure work is carried out safely

• Support staff with day-to-day site and facilities needs

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a school caretaking, site management, or facilities role

• Practical and hands-on with good maintenance and DIY skills

• Strong awareness of health & safety procedures

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

• Trustworthy and comfortable working in a school environment

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
