Job Title: School Caretaker
Location: Bootle, Liverpool
Pay Rate: £17 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday - Split Shifts

• Morning: 7:00 am - 11:10 am

• Afternoon: 2:50 pm - 6:00 pm

Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to support the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the school site. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, secure, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing the school site in line with daily schedules.

• Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and health & safety checks.

• Ensuring the school premises and grounds are clean, safe, and well presented.

• Monitoring security, including alarms, access control, and visitor entry.

• Supporting site setup for school activities, events, and lettings.

• Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues as required.

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and safeguarding procedures.

Person Specification:

• Previous experience as a school caretaker or in a similar setting is essential.

• Practical maintenance skills and a good understanding of health & safety.

• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.

• Must hold a valid DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one at their own expense.

• Must be willing to undergo reference checks covering a minimum of 24 months' employment.
