About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a school in Warrington on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. This is a key role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the school premises, including setting alarms

  • Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks

  • Ensuring the site is safe, secure, clean, and well presented at all times

  • Managing health and safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and risk assessments

  • Overseeing contractors and liaising with external service providers

  • Grounds maintenance, including litter picking and basic outdoor upkeep

  • Supporting with room set-ups for school events and activities

  • Monitoring stock levels and reporting maintenance issues promptly

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities role (school experience desirable but not essential)

  • Good practical and DIY skills

  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload

  • Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
