Location: Blackburn
Pay Rate: £17 per hour
Hours: Split Shift - 6:30am - 9:00am and 3:00pm - 6:00pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract:Temp to Perm contract
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to join a school in Blackburn. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school site is safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained. This is a split-shift position, ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and can manage a range of caretaking and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Open and secure the school premises each day, including setting alarms and ensuring the site is safe.
Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks, both internally and externally.
Ensure the school is kept clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times.
Conduct health & safety checks, reporting and resolving any site issues promptly.
Liaise with contractors and staff to support the smooth running of the site.
Assist with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and supporting school events where required.
Respond to emergencies and site-related issues as they arise.
Requirements:
Previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience is essential.
Practical skills for carrying out minor repairs and maintenance.
Good knowledge of health & safety procedures.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
