Job Overview: Spencer Clarke Group is currently seeking reliable and proactive School Caretakers to join our dedicated team to work in our schools in Liverpool. This is temporary cover, ideal for someone with previous caretaking or facilities experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment.
Our contracts are short term, long term and temp-perm.
Key Responsibilities:
-Unlocking and securing the school premises each day
- Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., fixing door handles, replacing lightbulbs)
- Ensuring the school grounds and building are clean, tidy, and hazard-free
- Monitoring heating, lighting, and alarm systems to ensure efficient operation
- Setting up furniture and equipment for school events or assemblies
- Conducting regular health and safety checks, including fire alarm tests and reporting any issues
- Supervising external contractors when on site for larger repairs or maintenance
- Responding quickly to any ad hoc tasks or emergency situations
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role (preferably in a school setting)
- A proactive, hands-on attitude with strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
