School Business Manager (Long-Term Role) - Bolton
Start Date: ASAP | Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

A well-respected school in Bolton is seeking a committed and highly organised School Business Manager to join their team on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or finance professional looking to make a real impact within a school environment.

  • Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

  • Contract: Long-term (with potential for extension)

  • Location: Bolton

  • Reporting to: Senior School Business Manager

Role Overview:
You will support the Senior School Business Manager in the effective running of the school's business functions. This is a varied and rewarding role that involves working across finance, HR, premises, and general school operations to ensure smooth day-to-day management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with financial processes, including budgeting, invoicing, and monitoring expenditure

  • Supporting HR administration, safeguarding checks, recruitment paperwork, and staff records

  • Helping to manage contracts, suppliers, and procurement activities

  • Providing data, reports, and analysis to senior leaders

  • Overseeing general office functions and supporting wider administrative teams

  • Ensuring compliance with school policies, health & safety requirements, and statutory reporting

About You:
We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in school administration or finance (SIMS/FMS experience desirable but not essential)

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

  • Confident working with numbers and data

  • A strong communicator who can liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Professional, reliable, and proactive in their approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
