Job Title: School Receptionist

Location: Morecambe LA1
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £16.25 per hour
Contract Type: Temp to Perm- Sept start

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive School Receptionist to join a welcoming and busy school office team starting this September. This is a key front-facing role requiring excellent communication, organisation, and administrative skills. As the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth running of the school's daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors, staff, and students in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer and direct phone calls and emails efficiently
  • Manage the school's visitor sign-in system and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate pupil records using SIMS
  • Assist with attendance monitoring and pupil data entry
  • Provide general administrative support to staff and senior leadership
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Support with first aid and welfare duties as required (training can be provided)

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school environment
  • Proficient in using SIMS (School Information Management System)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
  • A calm, professional, and flexible approach to work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
