Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Rent Service Officer for a Local Authority Client in North London.
In this role you will manage rent arrears cases, work directly with tenants to sustain tenancies, and take effective action to maximise income while protecting vulnerable customers.
Duties:
- Manage a caseload of rent arrears cases and monitor accounts to reduce debt
- Engage with tenants through visits, calls and correspondence to support payment and sustain tenancies
- Take appropriate enforcement action, including preparing cases for court when necessary
- Maintain accurate records, reports and performance data using council systems
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience of managing rent arrears cases within a local authority or social housing environment
- Experience of working directly with customers, including handling sensitive or challenging situations
- Experience of using housing management or financial systems to monitor accounts and record casework
- Experience of working independently, prioritising workload, and meeting deadlines under pressure
What's on offer:
Salary: £29ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
