About the Role

We are working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in Lancaster who are seeking a committed Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis.

This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working in Key Stage 1, supporting pupils as they consolidate core literacy and numeracy skills while developing confidence and independence as learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 2 national curriculum
• Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that supports both learning and wellbeing
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
• Work closely with teaching assistants, SEN staff, and the wider school team
• Support pupils' transition through Key Stage 1 and preparation for KS2

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS (ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply)
• Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience desirable but not essential)
• Demonstrate strong classroom management with a caring, structured approach
• Be enthusiastic, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality teaching
• Be confident in supporting pupils of mixed abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
