About the Role

Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a passionate and nurturing Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming primary school in Skelmersdale. This is a full-time position for the remainder of the academic year, providing an excellent opportunity to support young learners at a crucial stage in their development.

As an EYFS Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping children develop socially, emotionally, and academically, while fostering a lifelong love of learning.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children to enhance learning and development.

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and creative activities.

  • Promote a nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel safe and valued.

  • Support children with personal care, transitions, and social development when required.

  • Observe and record children's progress, feeding back to the class teacher and EYFS lead.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, SENCO, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

  • Maintain a positive and professional approach, contributing to the wider school community.


Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or equivalent.

  • Previous experience working within an EYFS or nursery setting.

  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and early years pedagogy.

  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain).
