Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Private Sector Housing Officer for a Local Authority Client in Thornaby.
In this role you will inspect private sector housing, assess and enforce standards using HHSRS, and take action to improve housing conditions across the borough.
Duties:
- Inspect private sector homes and assess conditions using HHSRS.
- Prepare notices, reports, and enforcement documentation.
- Manage a caseload of housing complaints and investigations.
- Liaise with landlords and tenants and support legal proceedings when needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience inspecting properties and identifying housing defects and hazards.
- Experience applying housing legislation and producing enforcement documentation.
- Experience managing a caseload and working to deadlines.
- Experience dealing with landlords, tenants, and multi-agency partners.
What's on offer:
Salary: £23ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
