We are working in partnership with a specialist independent school to appoint a Principal/Headteacher to lead a dedicated team supporting pupils with autism and associated learning needs.

The Role:

  • Provide strategic leadership and clear direction for the school
  • Lead on the quality of education, ensuring a broad, balanced and personalised curriculum
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and structured environment tailored to pupils with autism
  • Drive school improvement, maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour
  • Oversee safeguarding, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, including teaching and support staff
  • Work closely with external professionals, families and stakeholders

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience as a Headteacher, Principal or Senior Leader
  • Relevant qualifications
  • Strong experience working with pupils with autism and/or complex needs
  • A deep understanding of specialist or independent school settings
  • Experience of school improvement, growth and managing change
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, SEND legislation and inspection frameworks
  • A passionate, resilient and child-centred approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
