Principal Accountant (HRA)
My client is a Local Authority in Essex who are looking to appoint a talented Principal Accountant a Interim basis.
About the role:
Based in Essex (Remote/Hybrid):
This role is within the Financial Accounting / General Fund and Housing capital programmes. In addition to treasury and capital the team has responsibility for other technical areas, including VAT, leasing, Financial Regulations and other one-off special projects that arise from time to time.
What's on offer:
- Day Rate: £389 - £550 per day inside IR35.
*Negotiable based on experience

- Contract type: Contract (36.25hrs a week)
*Part-Time considered, 30 hours per week,
- Hours: 09:00 -17:30 Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
- The timely and accurate production of the annual Statement of Accounts.
- The HRA and Housing General Fund revenue and capital accounting.
- The Housing and General Fund Services capital programmes and accounting for capital, including fixed asset accounting.
About you:
You will have the following experience:
- An in-depth knowledge of local government finance and general local government procedures.
- Relevant staff management experience including the ability to deliver through others.
- Experience of liaison with budget managers and senior staff.
