We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in supporting pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing. Working alongside class teachers, you will help create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Assist children with varying learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where required.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Supervise pupils during break times, educational visits, and school activities as required.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil outcomes.

About You
We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children, ideally within a primary school or educational setting.
  • Is patient, caring, and passionate about supporting children's learning.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
  • Is proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Can adapt to the individual needs of pupils and the wider school community.
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Has knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures or is willing to undertake training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
