Spencer Clarke Group are looking for an interim Disrepair Surveyor to support a busy local authority disrepair service. You will carry out property inspections, diagnose root causes, and produce clear, evidence-led reports and specifications to ensure legal repair obligations are met.

This is a hands-on role focused on inspection, reporting, and oversight of remedial works, with a strong emphasis on quality, compliance, and resident outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspecting residential properties for disrepair concerns and undertaking building pathology style investigations
• Producing expert reports with photographs, root cause analysis, and clear findings suitable for internal and external audiences
• Assessing and scoring hazards using HHSRS guidance
• Writing detailed specifications of works and supporting work orders
• Monitoring works in progress, quality of workmanship, materials, and site health and safety
• Attending meetings with internal stakeholders, external parties and residents including complex and vulnerable cases
• Completing post-inspections and ensuring any guarantees / specialist paperwork is captured
• Updating the repairs management system within 24 hours of attendance
• Using NHF Schedule of Rates where appropriate, with an awareness of budget and commercial controls
• Completing dynamic risk assessments on site when required

About You:

• Strong experience in housing repairs / disrepair inspection and reporting
• Confident producing specs, managing remedial works oversight, and completing post-inspections
• Working knowledge of HHSRS and housing health and safety considerations
• Comfortable in resident-facing situations, including challenging conversations
• Good technical writing, evidence gathering, and systems discipline
