About the Role
We are seeking reliable and proactive Premises Assistants to support schools across the Wigan, Standish, Newton-le-Willows, and wider Greater Manchester areas. This role is essential in ensuring that the school environment is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and facilities
Setting up classrooms, halls, and meeting areas for school activities and events
Carrying out basic repairs, decorating, and general DIY tasks
Monitoring site security, including opening/closing the premises and ensuring the safety of all buildings
Supporting cleaning and waste management as required
Reporting and responding to maintenance issues promptly
Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained across the site
What We're Looking For
Experience in a premises, site, caretaker, or maintenance role (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
Basic DIY/maintenance skills and a practical, hands-on approach
Strong awareness of health & safety and safeguarding in a school environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility and reliability to support the school's needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
