Paralegal - ACE Team (Adult's, Children & Education)

Rate: £15-£25 per day - Negotiable DOE
Contract Length: 3-6-month initial contract

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Paralegal with experience in ASC, Childcare or Education law to join a local authority in the South Midlands.

The successful candidate will assist in preparing and managing cases, liaising with key agencies, and ensuring the smooth running of proceedings in line with the Children Act 1989, the Children and Families Act 2014, and relevant procedural rules.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist solicitors with all aspects of childcare proceedings, including case preparation, disclosure, and drafting of court documents.
• Liaise effectively with Children's Services, the Police, Health, Probation, and the Courts to ensure collaborative case management.
• Prepare Court bundles, statements, and case summaries; attend court to support Counsel when required.
• Manage pre-proceedings work, including obtaining disclosure and liaising with experts and external agencies.

About You

• You'll have a relevant legal qualification such as Associate of the Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX).
• Experience working within a legal environment, ideally within Adult, Children, or Education law.
• Practical experience in Children Act 1989 and Children and Families Act 2014.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to work with senior officers, courts, and external professionals.
