Outreach Youth Worker (School-based)

Location: Manchester
Contract: Full-time, ongoing
Pay Rate: £106 - £120 per day

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs beyond the classroom?
We're looking for a committed and empathetic Outreach Youth Worker to join a dedicated Primary SEN provision in Manchester. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with special educational needs through both in-school and community-based support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils both in school and through outreach sessions.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring focused on social and emotional development.

  • Support pupils in managing emotions, building confidence, and improving behaviour.

  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, families, and external agencies to deliver consistent support.

  • Contribute to the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans.

  • Promote inclusion and positive engagement within both school and community settings.

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs.

  • Must be a car driver.
  • A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
