Outreach Family Support Worker

We are currently working with a public client in Liverpool to recruit an experienced Outreach Family Support Worker to provide targeted Early Help support to children, young people, and families across the city.
Role Overview
In this role, you will take responsibility for delivering outreach and home-based Early Help support to children and families using a whole family approach. You will provide targeted support to children and young people aged 0-19 to help prevent the need for statutory services and improve access to universal support.
Working closely with the Early Help Hub, you will support families whose cases have stepped down from Children's Social Care, delivering intensive and tailored support packages to improve outcomes and reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Early Help cases stepped down from Children's Social Care.
- Complete assessments and take on the Lead Professional role when required.
- Lead Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings and coordinate support plans.
- Deliver targeted outreach and home-based support to children and families.
- Support young people with emotional or behavioural needs.
- Assess risk and implement appropriate support in a timely manner.
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour.
- Support parents and carers to build positive parenting skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
- Work with partner agencies to provide coordinated support.
- Promote safeguarding in line with legislation.
- Attend meetings and contribute to reviews where required.
Key Requirements
- Experience supporting children, young people, and families with complex needs.
- Ability to manage caseloads and deliver targeted interventions independently.
- Knowledge of Early Help processes including EHAT, TAF, and Lead Professional role.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and risk assessment practices.
- Strong communication and partnership working skills.
- Ability to engage families using a solution-focused, whole family approach.
- Competent IT skills and experience maintaining electronic case records.
- Commitment to equality, anti-discriminatory practice, and safeguarding.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
Contract Length: 3 months initially with the view of an extension.
Pay Rate: £17-£22 (Negotiable DOE)
Working pattern - 37 hours per week (Hybrid)
