Outdoor Education Teaching Assistant - SEMH School (Preston)

📍 Location: Preston, Lancashire
🕒 Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 15:30pm)
💰 Pay: £110 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and resilient Outdoor Education Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Preston.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about outdoor learning and supporting young people with additional needs. You'll help deliver engaging forest school and outdoor education activities, promoting teamwork, resilience, and confidence among pupils who benefit from hands-on, experiential learning.

The role involves supporting students with a range of emotional and behavioural needs, both in the classroom and during outdoor sessions. Every day will be different - and always rewarding.

What We're Looking For:
✅ Previous school-based experience (essential)
✅ Experience leading or assisting in Forest School or Outdoor Education sessions
✅ A resilient, proactive, and adaptable approach - able to think on your feet and handle challenging behaviour calmly
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✅ A genuine passion for outdoor learning and supporting young people

Requirements:

• Must have an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (UDS) or be willing to apply and pay for one before starting

• Must be able to provide 24 months of employment references with no large gaps in employment history
