Job Title: School Office Manager
Location: Chorley
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00am - 4:00pm)
Contract: Temp to Perm
Pay: £17.00 per hour (Temp) / Pro Rata Salary: £26,174.85 (Permanent)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Office Manager to lead and manage the administration function within one of our school's in Chorley. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of daily school operations and supporting staff, pupils, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the school office, ensuring an efficient and welcoming environment.
  • Lead, support, and coordinate the work of administrative staff.
  • Oversee pupil admissions, attendance, and records management.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality policies.
  • Manage and maintain school databases (SIMS/Arbor) with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Handle correspondence, phone calls, and communication with parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Headteacher and senior leadership team with administrative and organisational tasks.
  • Assist with financial administration, such as processing invoices, petty cash, and budget monitoring.
  • Organise staff cover, meetings, and school events as required.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school environment (essential).
  • Strong knowledge and experience using SIMS and/or Arbor systems.
  • Experience in a school office management or senior administration role (desirable).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office suite, databases, and email systems).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
