Occupational Therapist (Adult Social Care)
Location: Hackney, London
Pay: £36.57 per hour (umbrella rate)
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: 3 months initially (potential for extension)
Our Local Authority client are recruiting a locum Occupational Therapist for their adult social care service in Hackney.
Key responsibilities:
- Hold and manage a small caseload of complex and challenging cases and to provide support and mentoring to other team members in the management of such cases.
- Have specialist knowledge of major adaptations and equipment for independence that can be used across the service.
- Improve the quality of work carried out by occupational therapists including effective case management, purposeful evidence-based interventions, analytical assessments and high quality written work.
- Support team members in maintaining and developing high professional standards.
Requirements:
- A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Substantial experience as an Occupational Therapist in Adult Services (e.g. minimum 3 years post qualification experience).
- Detailed knowledge and legislative literacy and understanding of the Care Act, Adult Safeguarding including self-neglect and hoarding, the Mental Capacity and Mental Health Act.
