Interim Maintenance Surveyor
Location: East London
Rate: Negotiable
Contract: 6 - Months
Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an Interim Maintenance Surveyor to join a large housing provider's direct services team, supporting the delivery of a high-quality responsive repairs service.
This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on inspections, defect diagnosis, clear specifications, strong customer communication to ensure repairs are completed safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing responsive repairs through site inspections and taking corrective action where required
- Diagnosing building defects and producing remedial proposals and detailed repair specifications
- Obtaining and assessing quotes/estimates in line with procurement procedures
- Managing communications with residents and stakeholders
- Scrutinising variations and ensuring works are delivered to budget and value for money
- Maintaining compliance with relevant building regulations, H&S legislation, and codes of practice
About you:
- Proven experience surveying in a repairs/maintenance environment
- Strong knowledge of defects, materials, and compliance requirements
- Comfortable producing clear written reports and specifications (Word/Excel and housing systems)
- Confident stakeholder management, with a customer-focused approach
- Full clean UK driving licence
