Learning Support Mentor

We are working with a range of mainstream secondary schools and alternative provision settings seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Learning Support Mentors to support students with additional needs, behavioural challenges, or barriers to learning.
All Educational Settings are based across Blackpool and The Fylde Coast.
This is a highly rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference every single day.
As a Learning Support Mentor, you will work closely with students who may be struggling academically, socially, or emotionally, helping them to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Supporting students with SEND, SEMH needs, or behavioural challenges
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Promoting emotional regulation and coping strategies
- Supporting engagement both inside and outside the classroom
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Helping to create a safe, structured learning environment
No two days are the same but the impact you make will be lasting.
Who We're Looking For:
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including education, youth work, care, coaching, and support roles.
You will ideally have:
- Experience working with children or young people
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Emotional resilience and empathy
- The ability to build rapport with vulnerable or disengaged students
- A genuine passion for supporting positive change
Experience in alternative provision, SEND, SEMH, or behaviour support is highly desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
