Internal Recharge and Capitalisation Accountant - Interim (6 months)
My client is a Local Authority in the East Midlands who are looking to appoint a highly technical Internal Recharge and Capitalisation Accountant on an interim basis.

Contract Type: Contract (36 hrs a week)
Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
You will be responsible for:
Reviewing all existing internal recharge processes, simplifying them, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Reviewing findings of the previous Section 114(2), with cross-comparisons across GF/HRA CFR, ensuring future compliance with the law and accounting regulations.
Designing and implementing capitalisation processes in line with the CIPFA Code of Practice.
Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all internal recharges and capitalisation entries, ready for external audit and potential Commissioners' review.
Adjusting budgets for current and future years, ensuring robust financial planning and reporting.
This is a critical technical role, providing assurance over capitalisation and recharge processes whilst strengthening financial integrity.
About you:
You will have the following experience:
Strong technical background in local authority corporate finance.
Qualified accountant (CIPFA/CCAB) with evidence of CPD.
Extensive experience in capital and technical accounting (CFR, MRP, recharges, capitalisation).
Experience of working under Section 114 conditions or with authorities in financial recovery is highly desirable.
