Interim Estates Surveyor
Location: South Yorkshire - Hybrid
Contract: Interim/Ongoing
Rate: £400-475 per day
Spencer Clarke Group are looking for an experienced Estates Surveyor on behalf of our Local Authority client in South Yorkshire. This is an opportunity to work with a group of professionals focused on developing the Council's commercial property portfolio and maximising income and capital generation opportunities.
The Role
- Provide professional valuation, estates management, and surveying advice to departments across the Council.
- Support acquisitions and disposals of a wide range of land and property assets.
- Assist with statutory valuations, working alongside MRICS Registered Valuers for accountancy and audit functions.
- Deliver advice and reports for Council representatives, acting as the property lead on various matters.
- Contribute to land and premises reviews, supporting corporate priorities.
- Assist the Estates Manager and Principal Estates Surveyor, including attending stakeholder and committee meetings.
About You
- Experience of Estate Management, Property Valuation, Acquisitions & Disposals.
- Strong report writing and communication skills, with the ability to advise at all levels.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for income and capital generation.
- A collaborative approach, able to work flexibly as part of a small but ambitious Estates Team.
- Ideally RICS-qualified (or working towards), though equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Registered Valuer preferred but not essential
