Intensive Family Support Key Worker

We are currently seeking a dedicated Intensive Family Support Worker to join a dynamic team within a local authority service. The successful candidate will work closely with children, young people, and families who are experiencing complex challenges, providing tailored support to help improve family functioning, promote resilience, and ensure positive outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and whole-family support to families with complex or multiple needs.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop targeted family support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions aimed at improving parenting capacity and family relationships.
  • Monitor and review progress, maintaining accurate case notes and records in line with safeguarding standards.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to child protection and early help planning.
  • Support families in accessing community resources, education, and employment opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children and families in a similar role (e.g., Family Support Worker, Early Help Practitioner, Family Intervention Worker).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and early intervention frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to build trust and engage families with complex or challenging circumstances.
  • Relevant qualification in Social Care, Youth Work, or a related field (Level 3 or above).

Contract length: Initial 12 weeks - with expectation of ongoing extension.
Rate of Pay: £14.36-£18.10 (Negotiable DOE)
Hours: Full time, 37 hours each week.
