Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an Inquiries and Decisions Officers for a Local Authority Client in North London.
In this role, you will carry out housing assessments, make informed decisions under homelessness legislation, and help provide support to vulnerable residents.
Duties:
- Conduct housing needs assessments, make main duty decisions, and help clear pre-existing homeless application backlogs.
- Provide a trauma-informed, empathetic service to vulnerable residents, including families, single adults, and those with complex needs.
- Work with internal teams, external agencies, and case conferences to coordinate support and ensure statutory obligations are met.
- Ensure safeguarding, prevent housing fraud, produce clear reports, and uphold high-quality, person-centred service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience supporting vulnerable people in housing, health, or social care, understanding complex needs in diverse communities.
- Experience conducting assessments and making decisions on complex homelessness cases in line with legislation and guidance.
- Experience delivering services empathetically and through a trauma-informed approach.
- Experience collaborating with internal teams, external agencies, and voluntary sector organisations to coordinate support and services.
What's on offer:
Salary: £31
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
