We are seeking a committed and adaptable IT Teacher to join our specialist SEN school in Nottingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health, and moderate learning difficulties. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated ICT and computing lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets, ensuring all learners can access and benefit from the curriculum. You will teach a broad range of topics such as digital literacy, online safety, and functional IT skills, while adapting your teaching strategies to meet diverse communication, sensory, and behavioural needs. Working closely with teaching assistants and wider multidisciplinary teams, you will support pupils' academic progress alongside their social and emotional development, using positive behaviour support strategies and building strong, trusting relationships to promote engagement and confidence. The role also involves assessing and monitoring pupil progress, contributing to curriculum development, and embedding life skills, employability, and digital safety into your teaching. A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing is essential. The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent, have experience teaching ICT or computing, and demonstrate a clear understanding of inclusive practice and effective classroom management; experience within an SEN or alternative provision setting and knowledge of autism or trauma-informed approaches would be advantageous. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive team, benefit from ongoing professional development, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people.
