Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Solutions Reviews Officer for a Local Authority Client in Southwest London.
In this role, you will provide independent, legally sound reviews to ensure residents receive fair and timely housing decisions.
Duties:
- Deliver independent, legally robust reviews of housing allocation and homelessness decisions, issuing statutory outcomes within required timescales.
- Work collaboratively with residents, legal representatives, partners and internal teams to gather evidence, manage complex cases and support fair decision-making.
- Represent the Council in legal processes, liaising with Legal Services, preparing appeal documentation, and ensuring decisions withstand scrutiny.
- Maintain high-quality casework and governance, managing records, monitoring temporary accommodation use, and contributing to service improvement and quality assurance.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience handling statutory housing or homelessness casework, including complex or high-risk cases.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply housing legislation, statutory guidance and case law to make defensible decisions.
- Experience engaging with vulnerable service users and external stakeholders, such as solicitors, advocates and partner agencies.
- Strong track record in accurate case management, record-keeping and producing high-quality written decisions or reports.
What's on offer:
Salary: £32+
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 4-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
