Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Options Officer for a Local Authority Client in Berkshire.
In this role, you will conduct homelessness assessments, provide first-stage legal advice, and work proactively to prevent homelessness while ensuring compliance with housing legislation.
Duties:
- Conduct first-stage homelessness assessments and gather necessary documentation.
- Review S8 and S21 notices for legal validity and compliance.
- Provide initial legal advice under the Housing Act and Part 7 Homelessness legislation.
- Upload and manage case information in Jigsaw while supporting homelessness prevention initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Proven experience in first-stage homelessness assessments and housing options.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, including HRA and Part 7 Homelessness provisions.
- Experience checking S8 and S21 notices for legal compliance.
- Competence using housing management systems (Jigsaw preferred).
What's on offer:
Salary: £23ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
