Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Options Advisor for a Local Authority Client in Northamptonshire.
In this role, you will assess homelessness applications through triage, manage caseloads, and make timely, lawful housing decisions to support customers and reduce service backlogs.
Duties:
- Assess and triage homelessness applications in line with Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
- Manage a caseload of homeless and threatened-with-homelessness customers.
- Make statutory decisions and produce clear, compliant decision letters.
- Liaise with customers and stakeholders to provide housing advice and prevention support.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Proven experience working with homelessness casework under Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
- Experience carrying out housing options advice, triage, and decision-making.
- Strong ability to manage a varied caseload independently in a pressured environment.
- Experience using housing management systems, ideally Jigsaw.
What's on offer:
Salary: £20ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
