Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Options Officer for a Local Authority Client in East London.
In this role, you will work on the frontline to prevent and relieve homelessness, providing tailored housing advice, support, and solutions to vulnerable individuals and families.
Duties:
- Assess housing needs and provide advice to prevent homelessness.
- Negotiate with landlords, families, and partners to secure accommodation.
- Manage caseloads, write decision letters, and create personalised housing plans.
- Refer and signpost clients to internal teams and external support services.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience working with vulnerable people and supporting diverse communities.
- Knowledge of housing law and homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a busy environment.
- Skilled in collaborating with partners, agencies, and stakeholders to achieve housing solutions.
What's on offer:
Salary: £30ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
