Housing Officer

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Officer for a Local Authority Client in Harrogate.

In this role, you will manage council housing, support tenants, address tenancy issues, and work with communities and partners to create safe neighbourhoods.

Duties:

• Allocate council homes, monitor introductory tenancies, and address breaches or anti-social behaviour.
• Conduct estate inspections, identify improvements, and engage with tenants to enhance neighbourhoods.
• Provide housing advice, guidance, and support for vulnerable residents, liaising with internal teams and external partners.
• Maintain accurate records, use housing management systems, and ensure compliance with legislation and data protection.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Experience working in social housing, including tenancy management and understanding landlord responsibilities.
• Proven track record of delivering customer-focused services and handling queries or complaints effectively.
• Experience liaising with internal teams, external agencies, and support providers to assist tenants.
• Experience responding to anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches, and using housing management systems while adhering to policies and legislation.

What's on offer:

Salary: £18ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
