Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Needs Officer for a Local Authority Client in Berkshire.

In this role, you will manage complex Part 7 homelessness cases, make robust statutory decisions and deliver high-quality housing needs assessments in line with legislation and council policy.

Duties:

  • Assess and determine homelessness applications under Part 7 legislation
  • Manage complex housing needs cases from assessment to decision
  • Issue clear, legally compliant decision letters
  • Work with partners to prevent homelessness and secure accommodation

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Extensive experience working as a Housing Needs / Homelessness Officer
  • Strong working knowledge of Part 7 homelessness legislation
  • Proven experience managing complex and high-risk cases
  • Experience working within a local authority housing service

What's on offer:

Salary: £28ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
