Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Benefit Assessment officer for a Local Authority Client in North London.
In this role, you will manage Housing Benefit and Universal Credit claims, mainly for Temporary Accommodation, ensuring compliance and accurate processing.
Duties:
- Assess and calculate Housing Benefit and Universal Credit claims, including new claims, changes, reviews, and reconsiderations.
- Manage new sign-ups for Temporary Accommodation and general needs properties.
- Use HB/UC systems such as Atlas, VEP, HBAA, iWorld, Information@Work, and Northgate NPS.
- Ensure compliance with relevant HB and UC legislation and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Housing Benefit assessment and calculations.
- Experience working with Temporary Accommodation and general needs.
- Proficient in HB/UC systems: Atlas, VEP, HBAA, iWorld, Information@Work, and Northgate NPS.
- Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit and Universal Credit legislation and guidance.
What's on offer:
Salary: £27ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
