Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Allocations Officer for a Local Authority Client in Berkshire.

In this role, you will assess housing applications, manage nominations, and provide housing advice in line with statutory housing legislation and local allocations policy.

Duties:

  • Assess housing applications in line with the Allocations Policy and relevant legislation
  • Manage the Housing Register and make direct nominations to suitable households
  • Apply Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act when handling allocations and homelessness cases
  • Provide clear housing advice and practical solutions to customers regarding their housing options

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience working with housing allocations and the Housing Register
  • Knowledge of homelessness legislation and statutory housing duties
  • Familiarity with Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996
  • Proven ability to provide housing advice and support to

What's on offer:

Salary: £23ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
