Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Homeless Prevention Visiting Officer for a Local Authority Client in Southwest London.
In this role, you will visit households at risk of homelessness, provide tailored advice and support, and help them secure or sustain safe, stable housing.
Duties:
- Conduct home visits, provide advice, mediation, and advocacy to help households remain in their current accommodation or access alternatives.
- Assess housing needs, create tailored housing plans, and maintain accurate case records for priority and non-priority clients.
- Provide face-to-face, telephone, and occasional evening support, guiding clients through housing applications and temporary accommodation processes.
- Work with support services, landlords, and families, stay up-to-date on housing law and welfare policies, and promote a housing options approach.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience working with diverse and vulnerable households in housing or homelessness services.
- Experience managing caseloads and providing quality advice in busy, multi-disciplinary environments.
- Experience meeting departmental objectives and maintaining accurate records.
- Experienced in producing clear written reports and handling enquiries, complaints, and negotiations effectively.
What's on offer:
Salary: £30ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
