Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Homeless Prevention Officer for a Local Authority Client in Redcar.
In this role, you will provide vital advice and support to vulnerable households, helping to prevent homelessness and ensure they access the services and resources they need.
Duties:
- Provide guidance to prevent homelessness, including home visits and risk assessments.
- Assess homelessness applications, maintain accurate records, and manage the Homelessness Prevention Fund.
- Work with landlords, agencies, and partner organisations to resolve housing issues.
- Contribute to homelessness prevention strategies, action plans, and awareness initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Substantial experience in a Local Authority housing department or similar, working with homelessness or vulnerable clients.
- Experience in homelessness prevention, mediation, or alternative intervention methods.
- Proven ability to work with a variety of clients, demonstrating empathy and strong communication skills.
- Experience in managing workloads, maintaining accurate records, and using relevant IT systems.
What's on offer:
Salary: £21+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
