My Local Authority client in the East Midlands is looking to appoint a talented Head of Children's Sufficiency & Brokerage on a Contract basis.
This role will ensure the local authority meets its statutory duties regarding sufficiency of placements for children in care and those on the edge of care, and delivers effective brokerage of high-quality, value-for-money placements.
About the role:
Based in East Midlands (Hybrid - flexible):
- Lead and manage the Brokerage/Placements Team, ensuring timely and effective sourcing, matching, and commissioning of placements that meet the needs of children and young people.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in placement sufficiency and brokerage, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes and securing value for money.
- Monitor and report on placement sufficiency, demand, spend, and outcomes, providing strategic advice to senior leaders and elected members.
- Champion co-production and engagement with children, young people, and families in the development and review of placement strategies and services.
About you:
You will have the following experiences:
- Deep experience in children's commissioning, brokerage and sufficiency.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrable understanding of data, dashboards and intelligence regarding sufficiency.
- Local Authority experience is essential.
