Food Technology Teacher - Secondary PRU (Blackburn)

🕒 Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (08:00am - 4:00pm), Term Time Only
💰 Pay: £165 - £175 per day (dependent on experience)


About the Role:
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and resilient Food Technology Teacher to work in a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Blackburn starting January 2026.

This full-time role involves delivering engaging, practical, and well-structured Food Technology lessons to students who require alternative provision, many of whom have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) additional needs. You will play a key role in helping students gain confidence, develop life skills, and achieve academic success in a nurturing and supportive environment.

You'll work as part of a committed multidisciplinary team focused on creating positive learning experiences and supporting young people to thrive both academically and personally.


What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
✅ Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
✅ Experience working with students with SEMH needs
✅ Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
✅ Resilient, patient, and adaptable teaching approach


Requirements:

  • Must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (UDS) or be willing to apply and pay for one

  • Must have 24 months of employment references with no large gaps in employment history
