We are currently supporting a local authority in the recruitment of an accomplished Family Support Worker to join the Children's Services Team in Wakefield!
As a Family Support Worker, your role will involve effective collaboration with parents/carers and other professionals to undertake various tasks aimed at providing support, guidance, and care to children and their families. The objective is to enable children to be safely cared for within their families.
Key responsibilities:
- Engaging in direct work with parents/carers and children, including individual and, if suitable, group activities.
- Observing and assessing progress towards goals, making recommendations for future work.
- Providing information to colleagues to aid in the assessment of needs and decision-making.
- Identifying and reporting concerns about a child to social workers and managers as necessary.
- Assisting service users in cultivating positive and confident personal relationships in social settings.
- Transporting and accompanying adults, children, and young people when required.
To thrive in this role, candidates must possess:
- Experience in direct work with children and families.
- A full UK driver's license.
- Access to their own vehicle.
