Family Support Worker

We are supporting a Local Authority to recruit a Family Worker to provide practical, evidence-based support to children, young people and families. The role focuses on improving outcomes, preventing escalation of need, and working directly with families in their homes and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Complete assessments and observations with children and families.
• 
  Plan and deliver support packages and review progress.
• 
  Manage a varied caseload and act as Lead Professional when required.
• 
  Provide intensive support, including daily contact where needed.
• 
  Facilitate group work and supervised contact sessions.
• 
  Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports.
• Work within safeguarding procedures and escalate concerns appropriately.
  

Key Requirements

• 
  Level 3 qualification in Social Care, Childcare, Health or Working with Families.
• 
  Experience working directly with children/young people (0-19).
• 
  Ability to complete assessments and develop support plans.
• 
  Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• 
  Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• 
  Ability to work independently and within multi-agency teams.
• 
  Flexible to work some evenings/weekends.
• Able to travel within and outside the borough.

Contract Length: 3 months initially with the view of an extension.
Pay Rate: Starting from £16.25 per hour
Working pattern - 37 hours per week
