Family Support Worker

We are working with a client in the St Helens area to recruit a Family Support Worker to assist qualified social workers in supporting, protecting, and helping families involved with Children's Social Care.
This role involves providing practical, hands-on support to children and their families, contributing to assessments, delivering intervention programmes, and facilitating supervised Family Time.
Key Responsibilities:
Support social workers with assessments, care plans, and case management.
Work proactively with families to build trust and engagement.
Deliver practical support and intervention programmes to children and families.
Facilitate Family Time sessions, including evenings and weekends, and assist with arrangements.
Ensure the voice of the child is central to all assessments and care plans.
Monitor family progress using tools like Signs of Safety and Graded Care Profile.
Attend case conferences, reviews, and meetings as required.
Maintain clear, accurate records in line with council procedures.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies, and community organisations.
Follow safeguarding policies, health and safety guidelines, and maintain professional standards.
Key Requirements:
Experience working with children, young people, and families in a social care or related setting.
Understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
Ability to engage and build positive relationships with families, including those difficult to reach.
Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and across St Helens as required.
Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Pay Rate: £14.82 - £19.22
Working pattern - 37 hours per week, onsite.
