Family Support Worker
We are working in partnership with a Local Authority in Wellingborough to appoint a Family Support Worker within their service.
About the Role
Within this role, the post holder will support Social Workers to undertake direct work with parents and families. This includes providing parenting support, budgeting advice, support around domestic abuse and healthy relationships, as well as assisting with duty work and family time. The role also involves attending meetings, contributing to multi-agency working, and maintaining accurate records, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supporting Social Workers with direct work with parents and families.
- Delivering parenting support, budgeting guidance, and practical interventions.
- Supporting families affected by domestic abuse and promoting healthy relationships.
- Assisting with duty work and family time arrangements.
- Attending and contributing to multi-agency meetings.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and partner agencies.
- Maintaining accurate, timely and up-to-date records.
Key Requirements
- Experience working with children and families within a social care or family support setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding and multi-agency working.
- Ability to build effective relationships with families and professionals.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- Relevant qualification (Level 3 or equivalent) or significant relevant experience.
